Project Spotlight: Warwick University

We’re delighted to showcase our recent commercial project, a stunning arrangement of our teak outdoor furniture at the brand new Faculty of the Arts building at Warwick University. The 70m project, designed by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, aims to bring together “a diverse and international mix of minds from all walks of life, creating the optimum environment for generating a universe of ideas”

A key focus of this mammoth project is sustainability, going far beyond just energy-efficient design. The building design spans 15,000m2 of floor space with four distinct clusters set around a grand central staircase within a full height atrium. The building sits within a ring of existing trees, with a low carbon cement substitute used in the concrete frame saving an estimated 264.8 tonnes of carbon compared to use of cement. The outdoor living space is designed to be used as a hub for students, with sustainable Grade A teak outdoor furniture supplied by our team. The circular teak dining sets complement the overall eco-friendly environment created by the University of Warwick team, offering a welcoming meeting space that’s built to last a lifetime.

“We’re delighted to work with Warwick University and to see our teak furniture included in the innovative Faculty of the Arts building. We’re committed to our own mission of manufacturing only the finest Grade A sustainable teak furniture, so we are proud to see our pieces showcased in this exciting environment” Matthew Lock, Teak Finesse.
